My New Cyber Home

It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to my new cyber home.

I have wanted to bring you more new and exciting things, but this platform for sharing was not allowing me to grow in the direction that I wanted to go.  So it is a biter sweet feeling that I am moving, after sharing the ins and outs of my classroom over the last four years.

I hope you will join me in my new home.

Father's Day Celebration

Donuts for Dads went off with a bang!

My dad's kept telling me, that we always do things for the moms but not for the dads.  When was it going to be their turn.  My answer...

Just wait until Father's Day

Dads came Friday morning to drop off children and celebrate father's day with donuts for dads.

What was on the menu?

Donuts of course.  We had donuts, donut holes, coffee and milk.

Donuts were placed in brown lunch bag and then made into a man's shirt with tie.

While the dads were there the children presented them with their handmade gift and card.

You can get everything you need for a Father's day celebration in the Donuts for Dads packet on Teachers Pay Teachers or Teachers Notebook.

Outdoor Learning Fun

It that time of the year to let the children out and just play!

Are they just playing?

When children are at meaningful play that is facilitated by adults, children are given the opportunity to experience many different types of learning opportunities.

These children are deeply engaged at play while building relationships, creating, building fine motor skills and learning the power of cooperation.

Dramatic play is in full swing as children role play a BBQ with friends.

These girls discovered that water evaporates.  They realized that when they painted with the water in the sun their water drawings didn't last long and they could not finishes some.  So they moved to a shaded area where they discovered that the evaporation process was a lot slower and they were able to finish a water painting before it disappeared from evaporation.

 More outdoor learning fun below.

Celebrating the End of Another School Year

The school year has come to end and in honor of being blessed with the care of their precious children, we celebrate the time that we spent together.  Looking back at a year of many accomplishments and to the future.
We celebrate with an enriching experiencing for the children and their families, sharing their time spent with us over the year and the significance that it held for us and the amazing accomplishments for them.
As the children were called one at a time we shared memories of their child as well as what each child told us they would be when they grew up.  This gave our proud parents time to take pictures, reflect on their child's growth and to think of the future.
We ended our time with an ice cream social where parents and children could talked and enjoy the time getting to know one another.

Summer Camp here we come!

Hamburger Farm Tour

We went to a working farm

 Where?
Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland has tours for kids of the working farm during the off seasons.

What a great way for the children to learn about where a hamburger comes from.

All Aboard

We took a train ride out to where all of the ingredients to a hamburger is grown.

Fist Stop

Each child was able to grind their own hand full of wheat into flour as they stood next to a wheat field.  What do we use the wheat for?  Buns of course.

Next stop was a cucumber and lettuce patch.

Let's not forget

Eye watering onions

Who wants cheese on that burger?

We even dug up potatoes and cut them into french-fries.

We ended our day with a hamburger lunch.  Yum! Yum!

Find a local working farm in your area and the children will not be disappointed guaranteed.
