Eggs
Lots of animals come from eggs
Some with fins
And some with legs

Some that chatter
And some that cheep
Some that fly
And some that creep

Some that slither
And some that run
Some with feathers
And some with none

Animal eggs can be quite small
Or just as big as a tennis ball

The animals here
They’re quite a few
Hatch from eggs
And lay them, too.

*Egg Match Cut out a supply of egg shapes from wall paper scraps and wrapping paper scraps. Laminate the eggs for durability. After laminating the eggs cut them in half like they have been cracked open. Have the children match the eggs and put them back together.

*Little Egg (sung to: London Bridges)

Written by: Kids World Exploration

Little chick goes peep, peep, peep
Peep, peep, peep
Peep, peep, peep
Little chick goes peep, peep, peep
When it hatched from its egg

Little snake goes hiss, hiss, hiss
Hiss, hiss, hiss
Hiss, hiss, hiss
Little snake goes, hiss, hiss, hiss
When it hatched from its egg

Little duck goes quack, quack, quack
Little fish goes bloop, bloop, bloop
Little bird goes chirp, chirp, chirp

*Egg Carton Math Match Set out a supply of plastic eggs and egg cartons. On the inside top of egg carton place a number of 1-12 or 1-18 depending on the size of egg carton. Have the children open up the egg carton find the number and place the right amount of eggs in the carton.
