Friendship March

We finished off our Friendship unit with a friendship march.  All of the children brought in handmade musical instruments that they made as a family project and we used those beautiful instruments for our friendship march.  The children also made banner flags to wave around as we marched.
This will be a must do again next year.  It was a success.

The instruments that the families came up with were amazing.  Take a look.

Shoe box rubber band guitar, coffee can drum, and spoon with plastic egg shaker.

More shakers using empty plastic bottles and paper towel tubs.

This was part of the September Communication Folder Packet

Ferns Music For Kids

Angels Are Out with You Today! is a CD by Ferns Music; this is a collection of songs that are calming and gentle for children.

Angels Are Out with You Today! Is a wonderful CD to play for those calming times.  We use this CD as we come in from outside play; children lie on the floor and listen to music to calm them down, so that they are ready to learn.
This CD also comes with the instrumental versions of all songs.  The children love to have these versions of the songs played especially "Happy Dance" while they dance with ribbons and scarves.

Music Banging Wall

I have been asking for donations as well as stalking the local thrift store for pots and pans for my bang wall and soon to come my mud kitchen.

We finally have out bang wall up and banging!  The children just love it and the teachers love it to, they are all getting that really loud music out of them outside.  We call all hear again.

We have discovered that we need to take up the whole section of the fence for the wall so that more children can bang away.  I have to tell I think all the big people that parent as well are having just as much fun banging away their thoughts out there.  It looks like I will be stalking local thrift store again while I am on vacation.

I am also going to plant a bunch of irises behind the fence so that it looks like a nice place to be.  (with irises I will not have to think about them, they are tough little flowers)

Original inspiration came from Let the children Play!
