Monthly Madness Planning Blog Hop

What do you have in the works for the month of November?

I like to plan for a month of activities so that I am not caught with nothing to do,  but I still like to leave room for all of those teachable moments.

We will be starting off the month by talking about families since Thanksgiving is near and family is a big part of that.

How many people are in your family?  Graphing activity

Children will be writing and drawing about their families and their homes.

Creative art project Who's coming for dinner?

The month will end with many different activities centered around turkeys.

Monthly Madness Planning Link Party

What will you be doing for the Month of October.

Take a sneak peak at what I have planned for all of my little ones.

I will be staring off the month with this fabulous book Pumpkin Heads by Wendell Minor.

Before reading the book we will be having a shred reading discussion

If you had a pumpkin what would you do with it?

If you carved a pumpkin what would yours look like?

For the first two weeks I will be blinding in the two lesson plans Scarecrows and Pumpkin Patch that can be found on TPT and TNB

I will also be adding the Scarecrow art that I found on Katherine Maries Blog.  Hop on over to her blog and you will not be disappointed with all of her cleaver ideas.

I will also be using Pumpkin on the Move for a movement activity by Leah Perry.  You can find it on her TPT store.

For the last two weeks of October I will be using the units Math Fun with Spider and Monster Mash Lesson Plan these can be found on TPT and TNB

I will also be adding these cute little scrap monsters from Katherine Maries Blog.

I will be reading this 5 Little Monsters Hiding Under the Bed by 123 Learning Curriculum

Down on the Farm Part 3

When I work on a theme unit like this I usually spent two weeks on the subject.  I like for the children to have numerous opportunities to practice the skills in different ways.  I feel that this give each child a strong foundation to build on.

Pocket Chart Story

Bulletin Board with Cows and Sheep

The children created the clouds and green hills by finger painting and roller painting.

Creative Art Sheep

The children first made marble paintings and then used those painting to create their sheep with.

Barn Yard Addition

Don’t forget that all of these ideas can be found in the Down on the Farm Theme Packet on Teachers Pay Teachers and Teachers Notebook.
